TATTOO AFTERCARE
Play it clean and safe. Following some of these simple care instructions will help you keep your new tattoo bright and bold.
After you receive your tattoo it will be bandaged. Leave the bandage/dressing on for 3 hours. When you are ready to remove the bandage here are a few items you will need, tips, and things to refrain from. Please remember to always treat your fresh tattoo gently and with extra care!
1. A mild anti-bacterial soap (the simpler the better): After removing the bandage, you should gently rinse your tattoo with some warm water and anti-bacterial soap just using your fingertips . DO NOT SCRUB YOUR NEW TATTOO WITH A WASHCLOTH, TOWELS, BRUSHES, ETC.
When you are finished rinsing the area, lightly blot/pat around and over tattoo with a clean and new paper towel.
2. Next you will need to have Aquaphor Healing Ointment or Tattoo Balm (Hustlebutter, Redemption Cream, Sorry Mom)
with no SPF (again as simple as it gets): You can find any of these products at any local drugstore, supermarket, etc. Apply a small amount of ointment according to the size of your tattoo, less is more! Please do not substitute
any products.
3. Continue to wash and apply ointment 2-3 times daily for 2-3 weeks. You will notice some changes in your skin as your tattoo begins to heal. These are some things that you will see and not need to be alarmed by. As your tattoo begins to heal you will notice your skin will flake or scab. This is very normal! As your new tattoo is transforming into it's fully healed state refrain from picking and scratching at the scabbing. During this time your skin may become itchy and it is very crucial that you do not itch! Just remember to follow your healing procedures and this should keep everything under control.
DO NOT submerge your tattoo in any body of water (lakes, pools, oceans, hot tubs) until you are totally healed (a minimum of 2 weeks or until all the scabbing has finished). Showering is fine, but do not have the jet beating down on the tattoo throughout your shower, this would be considered submerged.
Sun exposure and tanning are two major DON'TS after getting a tattoo. This applies to the sun and tanning salons. DO NOT use any sunblocks, oils, creams, sprays, etc. until your tattoo is completely healed.
Refrain from anything constantly rubbing on your new tattoo, tight fitted clothing and rough material included.
Again as long as you follow these simple instructions we are sure your new tattoo will certainly have a bright and bold future!

PIERCING AFTERCARE
1. Always wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning or handling your new piercing. Your hands carry natural oils which you do not want on new piercings/jewelry.
2. Cleaning your new piercing daily is a must. Certain piercings may require different variables as far as cleaning and healing times. Your piercer will advise you of these. Most piercings can be cleaned 3 times daily with one of three. We recommend using either a
Saline Spray (Simply Saline Wound Wash or H2Ocean) , A mild anti-bacterial soap (Dial) or if you prefer you can make a Sea Salt Mixture (A non-iodized sea salt mixture. 1/8 tsp or 1/4 tsp per 8oz of distilled water).
3. Dry your piercing with a new and disposable paper towel by patting/blotting it gently. Cloth towels carry bacteria and may also get caught or snagged on your jewelry.
4. It is not uncommon to see initially some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising. During healing some discoloration, itching, secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid that will form some crust on the jewelry.
DO NOT
Do not take your jewelry out for any reason before your new piercing is healed.
Beware of tight fitting clothing or any material/activity that may cause excess friction. this can prolong your healing and also cause damage migration, scar tissue, etc.
Do not submerge the piercing in unhygenic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, oceans, etc. showers are ok!
Do not use any beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing including cosmetics, lotions, and sprays, self tanners, etc.
